To get the best use out of your Talk2Us account, you should sync it with your contact list and calendar.
How Contacts Are Used
- Callers are identified by their phone numbers. Emailed transcriptions from those callers will contain the caller's name in the email subject, rather than just the phone number.
- The desktop application uses contact information to display and sort names on incoming messages, and send messages to contact email addresses and phone numbers.
- In the voice interface you can create messages or reminders for a contact by saying the contact's name when prompted.
- You can check voicemail from a particular contact by saying "check messages from [name]" in the voice interface.
Available Sync Methods
- Google. Talk2Us supports Google Apps as well as normal Google/Gmail accounts.
- Microsoft Outlook Plugin. Will sync your current information from Outlook.
- CSV from Microsoft Outlook. Export your Outlook contacts as .csv file, which can be imported by Talk2Us.
- Plaxo. Plaxo in turn will sync with most other applications and services.
- Coming soon: Blackberry, Apple, Yahoo, and more.
Updating Contacts/Calendar
When you update your contacts or calendar in Google or Plaxo, or perform a sync using the Talk2Us Outlook Plugin, the updates should show up in Talk2Us within a few minutes.
