Send Messages

Message instructions

Call (212) 792-9972, or dial your mobile phone number and let Talk2Us answer the call. Then, say 'send a message' or press 2.

When the system asks who you want to send the message to, respond by saying the first and last name of any of your contacts, or say or enter any 10-digit US or Canadian phone number.

The system will then prompt you to record your message. Messages can be up to two minutes long. When you're done recording, you can either hang up, press the # key, or just wait a few seconds.

After recording, if you like, you can hear the message again or rerecord it.

Message types

By default, Talk2Us messages are sent by phone immediately, and are transcribed and then also sent by email and SMS.

If you don't want messages sent by all these channels, you can choose the message type. Instead of saying "send a message," just say "send a phone message," "send a text message", or "send an email message."

Phone messages will be delivered by placing a phone call to the recipient. If they answer, the message will be played to them; if not, the message will be deposited in their voicemail.

Sending group messages

You can send a message to more than one recipient. When Talk2Us answers, just say 'send a group message' or press 2, and then when prompted say the recipients one at a time. You can also choose which channel to use when sending the messages by instead saying 'send a group email message', 'send a group phone message', or 'send a group text message.'
